Health & Safety/ HR Advisor / Warehouse Supervisor

The Job:
An excellent H&S Advisor will manage all safety and compliance to ensure adherence to OHS legislation, Construction & Builder processes, policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will be motivated, committed and dedicated to growing with us. As a Safety Advisor, you will be integral to managing our Health & Safety program, supporting upper management with supervising warehouse & fleet daily operations, implementation of safety systems and acting as a key ambassador of our safety culture.
YOU will:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the health and safety program
- Planning and execution of ACSA COR audits and COR action plans
- Assist site teams and managers in recognizing hazards
- Assist to control, minimize and/or eliminate hazards
- Focus on maintaining and improving health, safety and quality standards
- Champion OHS initiatives in the workplace while ensuring legislation is adhered to
- Conduct safety orientations for internal and external onboarding
- Manage subcontractor safety compliance monitoring, ensuring WCB and insurance is up to date and renewed annually
- Prepare and execute safety meetings and Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings
- Perform regular inspections across various company locations and situations, including field, shop, and office environment
- Coordinate emergency preparedness procedures and maintain relevant documentation and statistics to track OHS performance
- Support and promote the value of the safety program
- Provide consistent and accurate H&S advice to all team members
- Provide support on H&S issues/problems
- Participate in investigations
- Produce and communicate safety alerts to promote learning and prevention
- Assist in collecting, maintaining and tracking data to identify trends and take proactive initiatives
- Overseeing and assisting with warehouse and fleet daily operations, including deliveries / pick ups, order pick lists, carpet cuts etc.
- Manage and maintain scheduled maintenance for fleet vehicles and forklifts
What we need from YOU:
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in OH&S in a construction safety role
- National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) through Alberta Construction Safety Association (ACSA)
- Certified COR Auditor
- Class 3 or 5 drivers license with air brake endorsement
- Forklift Certification 1/4/5
- Ability to lift 50 LB +
- Engagement in field operations and observations
- Excellent knowledge of best practice OHS procedures
- Ability to understand and contribute to the development of policies and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to proactively build a strong network of relationships and partnerships
- Extensive knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, Workers Compensation, as well as related Federal, Provincial and Municipal regulations and legislation
- Experience in Root Cause Analysis
- Ability to work independently with significant initiative & as part of a team
- Experience developing and leading successful change initiatives
- Strong influencing and collaboration skills at all levels of the organization
- Ability to use systems, tools and organizational skills to work independently, organize workload and set priorities appropriately
- Excellent computer skills (MS Office, including Excel and Word) are essential
- Excellent communication, interpersonal & leadership skills
Nice to have:
· Certificate/Diploma in Human Resources
· Experience with Alberta Commercial Vehicle Safety Regulation
· Construction knowledge specific to flooring / tiling

Pay: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
