Full job description

Pet Paradise, a dog and cat open-concept daycare, overnight stay, and grooming facility, has openings for energetic and organized individuals. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with dogs and cats and providing exceptional care in a daycare and boarding setting.

Duties include:

Supervising play between dogs and cats to ensure all interactions are appropriate and safe.
Ensure the safety and well-being of all dogs and cats in the facility.
Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' behavior and well-being.
Assessing new dog /cat clients to ensure daycare is appropriate for them.
Bathing and drying pooches.
Administering medications (oral and topical, no injections).
Assisting customers with checking in and out.
Answering telephone and email inquiries.
Handling customer payments.
Clean and maintain daycare and boarding areas, including play areas and restrooms.
Cleaning up all messes, up to and including urine, feces, and vomit (a strong stomach is a must).
Must be physically able to handle dogs that can weigh 170lbs.
Ability to be outdoors during varying types of weather.
Deep cleaning of the entire facility happens a minimum of twice a day, so must be motivated to maintain cleanliness.
Other duties as required.

Ideal Candidate traits:

Must love dogs and cats.
Be very reliable and consistent.
Timely attendance.
Ability to work flexible days and hours, including holidays and weekends.
Strong customer service skills.
Previous experience working with dogs in a daycare facility is preferred but not required.
Previous experience working with Animal Rescue Institutions is considered an asset.
Pet Emergency First Aid and CPR is an asset.
Open availability is considered an asset.

Part-time and Full-time

Pay: From $16.00/hour

Schedule:

8-hour shift
Day shift
Evening shift
Weekends

Transportation:

Own mode of transportation
Public Transit Bus Stop is nearby available, if required.

We are open Monday to Friday from 6.30 AM to 7 PM and Saturday from 9 AM to 5 PM. Shifts will include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
