Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate, experienced, and dedicated Level 3 Educator to join our vibrant early childhood education team in Edmonton, Alberta.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 years of hands-on experience working in preschool and Out-of-School Care (OSC) settings and a strong understanding of early childhood development, inclusive education, and supporting children with diverse needs.
In this role, you will play a vital part in fostering a nurturing, inclusive, safe, and stimulating environment for young children. Your expertise in child development, special education, and bilingual communication will help ensure each child's unique needs are met with compassion and professionalism.
Important Position Requirements
- Minimum 1 years of professional experience working in preschool and OSC settings is required.
- Experience working with children with disabilities and/or special education needs is strongly preferred.
- This position involves working with 2 children supported through the FSCD program, both within an OSC setting.
- Applicants must be currently located in Edmonton, Alberta.
- We are seeking educators with direct, relevant childcare experience.

Duties
- Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate curriculum tailored to individual children's developmental stages and special needs.
- Provide high-quality childcare by creating a safe, welcoming environment that encourages exploration, learning, and positive social interactions.
- Support children with disabilities or special education needs through personalized strategies, accommodations, and individualized support.
- Work directly with two children receiving support through the FSCD program in an OSC environment.
- Lead classroom and OSC activities that foster language development in both English and French, promoting bilingual learning opportunities.
- Maintain detailed records of children's progress, behavior, developmental milestones, and individualized supports using computer-based documentation tools.
- Communicate effectively with families regarding their child's progress, challenges, achievements, and daily experiences through written reports and verbal updates.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff or volunteers, demonstrating strong leadership in classroom management and instructional techniques.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, licensing requirements, FSCD-related requirements, and organizational policies.
- Use strong organizational skills to manage daily schedules, lesson plans, activities, and classroom resources efficiently.
- Work collaboratively with families, educators, support professionals, and other team members to ensure consistency in children's care and development.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Level 3 Early Childhood Educator certification.
- Minimum 1 years of professional experience in preschool and OSC settings.
- Current Edmonton-based applicant preferred/required for this position.
- Experience supporting children with disabilities, developmental differences, or special education needs.
- Experience working with children from diverse cultural and developmental backgrounds.
- Fluency in English, with excellent communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles and child development best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to create inclusive and engaging learning environments.
- Excellent classroom management and child supervision skills.
- Strong organizational skills, including lesson planning, scheduling, and documentation.
- Leadership qualities and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.
- Proficiency with computers, educational software, documentation systems, and basic office tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining a positive, professional, and child-focused attitude.

We are looking for experienced educators who are already working or living in the Edmonton area and understand the demands of preschool and OSC environments.
This position is best suited for an educator who is confident working independently, comfortable supporting children with additional needs, and experienced in creating structured yet nurturing environments.
