Long-Term Industrial Work | Remote Camp | 14/7 Rotation | 12-Hour Shifts
We are seeking experienced Electrical and Instrumentation professionals for long-term industrial work at a major facility in Northern Alberta. These opportunities support ongoing construction, expansion, commissioning, and related field activities within a large-scale industrial environment.

- Electrical & Instrumentation Quality Control Inspectors
Compensation
- Journeyperson Positions: Up to $54.27 per hour employee rate, with rates varying by role, qualifications, and experience.
- Quality Control Inspectors: Up to $65.00 per hour for employees or $92.50 per hour DSP (independent contractor) rate, with rates varying by role, qualifications, and experience.
- Supervisory Positions: Up to $58.50 per hour employee rate or $82.50 per hour DSP (independent contractor) rate, with rates varying by role, qualifications, and experience.
Schedule & Camp
- 14 days on / 7 days off
- 12-hour shifts
- Long-term remote camp work
- Flights provided from Edmonton and Calgary
- Overtime opportunities available
Earning Potential
For employees, overtime is paid after 8 hours worked in a day and after 40 hours worked in a week. Candidates have the opportunity to earn substantial overtime while working 12-hour shifts on a 14-day rotation.
Position Overview
Successful candidates will work as part of an Electrical and Instrumentation team supporting industrial construction and field execution. Depending on the position, responsibilities may include installation, termination, testing, calibration, troubleshooting, commissioning support, quality inspection, documentation, crew coordination, and supervision.
What You'll Be Doing
Responsibilities will vary depending on the position and may include:
- Performing and supporting electrical and instrumentation installation activities in an industrial environment
- Installing cable tray, conduit, cable, grounding systems, panels, junction boxes, instruments, tubing, supports, and associated equipment
- Completing electrical and instrumentation terminations and connections
- Reading and interpreting drawings, single-line diagrams, schematics, loop drawings, specifications, work packages, and other project documentation
- Performing continuity, insulation resistance, point-to-point, loop-check, calibration, and functional testing as required
- Supporting commissioning, equipment start-up, troubleshooting, deficiency correction, and turnover activities
- Completing required testing, inspection, quality, redline, and turnover documentation
- Inspecting installations to verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, inspection and test plans, applicable codes, and project requirements
- Identifying, documenting, and tracking deficiencies through to resolution
- Coordinating with construction supervision, project management, engineering, commissioning, QA/QC, client representatives, and other trades
- Maintaining accurate records and supporting complete turnover and project documentation
- Following established safety procedures, permits, work practices, and site requirements
- Maintaining tools, equipment, materials, and work areas in a safe and organized condition
Leadership Responsibilities
For Electrical Foremen / Supervisors, responsibilities may additionally include:
- Leading and coordinating electrical and instrumentation crews
- Planning daily work activities and coordinating manpower, materials, tools, equipment, permits, and work fronts
- Monitoring productivity, workmanship, schedule progress, and safe work practices
- Providing direction and mentorship to Journeypersons, apprentices, and other field personnel
- Identifying and resolving field issues and communicating requirements to project supervision
- Coordinating work between multiple crews and trades to support efficient field execution
Quality Control Responsibilities
For Electrical & Instrumentation Quality Control Inspectors, responsibilities may additionally include:
- Conducting inspections of electrical and instrumentation installations
- Reviewing installations against approved drawings, specifications, applicable standards, and inspection requirements
- Reviewing test records, calibration certificates, inspection reports, loop documentation, and other quality records
- Documenting deficiencies and monitoring corrective actions
- Reviewing redlines and supporting accurate as-built documentation
- Maintaining organized quality records and supporting turnover package preparation
- Working closely with field supervision, construction crews, engineering, commissioning, and client representatives
Apprentice Responsibilities
For Electrical & Instrumentation Apprentices, responsibilities may additionally include:
- Assisting Journeypersons, Technicians, Foremen, and Supervisors with field activities
- Supporting installation, material handling, tool preparation, cable and conduit work, device installation, and general field tasks
- Developing the ability to read drawings and follow work packages
- Supporting testing, terminations, and other trade-related activities under appropriate supervision
- Maintaining tools, materials, work areas, and housekeeping standards
What You Bring
Qualifications will vary by position. Candidates should have:
- Previous experience in industrial electrical, instrumentation, construction, commissioning, or quality control
- Valid Journeyperson certification, apprenticeship registration, technical training, or relevant quality-control credentials, as applicable to the position
- Industrial experience in oil and gas, SAGD, oilsands, heavy industrial, or similar environments is an asset
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and instrumentation drawings, specifications, schematics, loop drawings, and work packages
- Knowledge of applicable electrical, instrumentation, testing, inspection, and quality requirements
- For Quality Control positions, demonstrated E&I inspection experience, including inspection records, testing documentation, deficiency management, and turnover packages
- For Foreman/Supervisor positions, previous experience leading crews and coordinating field activities
- Strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and accurate documentation
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-trade industrial environment
- Ability to work a remote camp-based 14/7 rotation with 12-hour shifts
- Ability to meet all required site orientation, safety, and access requirements
- All successful candidates will be required to complete a pre-employment test for drug and alcohol, including cannabis.
