IPM Magnetics Ltd. is an independent Survey Analysis and Correction company supporting Oil & Gas Operators and Directional Drilling Contractors.
Established in 2012, IPM provides specialized wellbore survey management services, including real-time and post-run survey analysis and correction, survey quality management, IFR field studies, auditing, consulting and operational standards development.
Our team brings more than 30 years of combined experience in Survey Analysis, Wellbore Surveying, Measurement While Drilling (MWD) and Directional Drilling.
We are currently looking for a Survey Technician / Wellbore Survey Analyst to join our team.
The Opportunity
This position is ideal for someone who is technically minded, highly detail-oriented and interested in working in wellbore surveying and directional drilling support.
Working alongside experienced Survey Analysts, you will support real-time drilling operations, survey analysis and correction, job preparation and wellbore survey management.
The role requires someone who is comfortable working with technical information and data, can follow established processes accurately and is able to maintain a high level of attention to detail in a fast-moving operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
As part of the IPM Magnetics team, you will:
- Assist the Lead Survey Analyst with day-to-day wellbore surveying operations.
- Support active drilling operations through real-time survey monitoring and analysis.
- Apply real-time survey corrections to active drilling operations in accordance with established IPM procedures.
- Generate applicable survey programs and prepare job folders for wellbore drilling projects.
- Complete day-to-day paperwork, documentation and job preparation.
- Review survey information for accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain accurate electronic records and supporting documentation.
- Communicate with Survey Analysts and other team members regarding active jobs and survey requirements.
- Follow established procedures for survey analysis, correction and quality control.
- Take on additional related duties and responsibilities as required.

Experience with MWD, Directional Drilling, Wellbore Surveying, Oil & Gas operations, technical data analysis or surveying is considered an asset.
Schedule
Following successful completion of the training period, the position will work a rotational schedule:
- 7 days on – Day Shift / 7 days off
- 7 days on – Night Shift / 7 days off
- Shifts are 12 hours during the scheduled work week.
Candidates must be comfortable working both day and night rotations and supporting real-time drilling operations during their scheduled shifts.
