Full job description

This position supports children and youth living in the Ben Calf Robe Society Group Homes. Specific homes working with children. The Child and Youth Worker Supports vulnerable and/or HIGH AT RISK children and youth through individual, group support and outreach, increasing life skills, social networks and safety using a harm reduction model. Specific supports provided include, but are not limited to, meal planning preparation and clean-up, personal and hygiene training support, and care, transportation, meal planning and preparation. Facility cleaning, maintenance, and laundry.

Shift Work: Sunday to Saturday 8 hr. SHIFT WORK - OVERNIGHT AWAKE - (10pm-6am)

Experience:

-Group Care Experience Required (12-17 years old)

- Demonstrated ability to support and engage with diverse communities and perspectives, including Indigenous peoples, LGBTQ+, and 2-Spirit individuals.

Education and Skill Requirements:

-Post Secondary education in a related field or the equivalent combination and experience.

-Clear Criminal Record Check and Intervention Record Check

-Experience working with children, youth, and families.

-Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate with staff, clients and stakeholders.

-Be able to plan, prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks and projects while carrying out ongoing responsibilities.

-Commitment to confidentiality, tact and diplomacy.

-Advanced skills in windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Etc.) Keyboarding skills 45 wpm.

-Demonstrate initiative, sound judgement, and attention to detail relating to assigned responsibilities.

-Flexible work schedule

Summary

As a Child & Youth Care Worker, you will be instrumental in supporting the emotional and developmental needs of children and youth, particularly those with disabilities. Reporting to the program supervisor, your core responsibility will be to create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment while utilizing your experience with children. Experience supporting diverse youth, including those from Indigenous, 2-Spirit, and LGBTQ+ communities, is highly valued, and your ability to foster respect, empowerment, and belonging will enhance the well-being of all children and youth. Your premium skills will enhance your ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities, and your relevant teaching skills will aid in fostering educational growth. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications will support your administrative tasks, ensuring a well-rounded approach to care and development.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
