Full job description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Optometry Office Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our optometry office, ensuring smooth and efficient administrative processes, and providing excellent patient care. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Greet and assist patients in a friendly and professional manner as they arrive at the office.
Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage the office’s calendar.
Verify and update patient information, including insurance details and medical history.
Assist in processing insurance claims and verify patient coverage.
Maintain patient records, ensuring that all information is accurate and up to date.
Assist the optometrists with preparing patients for exams and treatments.
Handle billing and payments, ensuring accuracy in charges and receipts.
Order and maintain office supplies and eyewear inventory.
Coordinate and assist with patient follow-ups, including appointment reminders and test results.
Ability to pre-test p and operate optometry equipment before patient sees the optometrist.
Ensure the office environment is clean, organized, and welcoming.
Assist with any other administrative tasks as needed to support the team and enhance patient care.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred).
Previous experience in a medical or optometry office setting preferred.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in office software (Microsoft Office, Electronic Health Records, etc.).
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.
Knowledge of optical terminology and basic understanding of optometry is a plus.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00-$17.00 per hour
