Full job description

Hours: Variable throughout the project lifecycle
Travel: Approximately 25%
Industry: Energy / Downstream Operations

Our energy-sector client is seeking an experienced Project Scheduler / Planner to support major turnaround and outage activities through planning, execution and closeout. This long-term contract requires strong Primavera P6 and SAP expertise, along with hands-on turnaround scheduling experience.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, maintain and analyze integrated project schedules using Primavera P6.
Plan turnaround and outage activities, including scope definition, sequencing, resource requirements and execution readiness.
Identify critical-path activities, milestones, schedule risks and upcoming priorities.
Create and maintain SAP work orders, requisitions and material reservations.
Coordinate material searches, reservations and the creation of new material numbers when required.
Incorporate progress updates from Engineering, Procurement, Operations, Maintenance, Construction and contractor teams.
Produce look-ahead schedules, progress reports, management summaries and schedule forecasts.
Perform schedule-impact assessments and develop what-if scenarios to support decision-making.
Maintain schedule assumptions, constraints, progress records, work packs and change history.
Facilitate schedule reviews and provide supporting analysis, charts and presentations.
Coordinate with vendors and procurement teams to support requisitions, rate reviews and purchase-order readiness.
Ensure schedules align with project scope, controls processes and organizational standards.
Promote safe, efficient and high-quality turnaround execution.

Required Qualifications

Extensive working knowledge of Primavera P6; EPPM P6 experience is preferred.
Current or recent experience working as a Turnaround Scheduler.
Demonstrated turnaround, outage, maintenance-event or industrial capital-project experience.
Strong SAP skills, including work orders, requisitions, material searches and reservations.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Strong understanding of project planning, scheduling and project-controls principles.
Ability to translate engineering, procurement, construction and maintenance information into executable schedules.
Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple disciplines.
Ability to work independently and manage changing priorities in a fast-paced project environment.

Anticipated Work Schedule

September–October 2026: Full-time planning and project alignment, including time onsite in Lloydminster.
October 2026–May 2027: Part-time remote support, approximately 10–20 hours per week.
May–July 2027: Full-time onsite outage support, 40 or more hours per week.
July 2027–July 2028: Part-time remote support, approximately 10–20 hours per week.
August–October 2028: Full-time onsite outage support, 40 or more hours per week.
October–December 2028: Part-time remote closeout support, approximately 10–20 hours per week.

Compensation

Independent Contractor: $103.69–$126.50 per hour
T4 Employee: $85.02–$103.73 per hour

The work arrangement changes throughout the assignment. Candidates must be available for onsite project startup and turnaround execution periods in Lloydminster.

Pay: $85.00-$126.00 per hour

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Lloydminster, AB
