Status
Position Summary
Supply Custodians perform heavy duty cleaning responsibilities and Supply Custodial Assistants perform routine light cleaning responsibilities.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
Supply Custodians:
-
Perform a variety of cleaning duties including floor care, garbage removal and washroom care

Maintain floors including scrubbing, waxing, stripping, and refinishing
-
Assist with the security of the building and immediate grounds
-
Comply with health and safety programs
-
Monitor community use of the school during shift and respond to requests for assistance

Move furniture (set up and remove furniture for school functions)
Remove snow using shovels, backpack blowers, snowblowers and tractors

Supply Custodial Assistants:
-
Perform routine light cleaning duties including sweeping, vacuuming, dusting and emptying garbages

Clean and disinfect washrooms

Assist with the security of the building

Monitor community use of the school during shift and respond to requests for assistance
Comply with school health and safety programs

Education/Qualifications
Supply Custodians:
-
high school diploma
-
a minimum of 2 years related experience
-
related custodial training
-
good verbal and written communication
- strong interpersonal skills
ability to use email and complete online training required by the Division

Supply Custodial Assistants:
-
a minimum of 1 year related experience
-
related custodial training
-
good verbal and written communication

strong interpersonal skills
ability to use email and complete online training required by the Division

Rate of Pay
Supply Custodians: $27.55 per hour
Supply Custodial Assistants: $23.14 per hour
About What We Have to Offer
Nature of Work
We are looking for individuals who can work the afternoon shift (between 2:00 p.m. and 11:30 p.m.). Hours of work may vary and can be up to 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday. This is hourly, on-call work with opportunities for temporary, long term assignments and eligibility to apply for permanent, advertised positions. Those interested should be prepared to travel to various schools throughout the City of Edmonton.
