We are currently seeking highly experienced Dozer Operators, Hoe Operators, and Water Truck Drivers to join our team for a long-term earthworks project in Northern Saskatchewan.
Position Details
- Location: Northern Saskatchewan
- Schedule: 20 days on / 10 days off
- Overtime: Paid in accordance with applicable Employment Standards legislation and project requirements
- Camp: Accommodations and meals provided
- Transportation: Provided from Edmonton to site. Employees are responsible for arranging their own transportation to the Stony Plain pickup location.
- Saskatchewan-Based Employees: Employees located in Saskatchewan are responsible for arranging secure parking and, if pre-arranged, may be picked up in Meadow Lake, Buffalo Narrows, or La Loche.
Camp amenities include a gym, TV room, games room, outdoor volleyball courts and gear, waterfront patio, water sports, and fishing access.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment, including dozers, excavators/hoes, packers, and/or water trucks.
- Perform work related to earthworks, grading, site preparation, compaction, road maintenance, hauling, and dust control.
- Conduct and submit daily pre-operational equipment inspections.
- Maintain clean, well-kept equipment and promptly report required service or repairs.
- Complete and submit required safety documentation, including FLHAs, permits, inspections, near miss reports, and positive observations.
- Follow all applicable Provincial and Federal regulations, including OH&S and transportation requirements.
- Comply with all WGL safety policies, procedures, and site-specific requirements.
- Follow direction from supervisors and maintain clear, respectful communication with the team.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a high standard of safety and productivity.
- Mentor junior operators where required and contribute to a positive, capable crew environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of proven experience operating relevant equipment in earthworks, civil construction, mining, pipeline, or remote project environments.
- Experience operating one or more of the following:
- Dozer
- Excavator/hoe
- Packer/compactor
- Water truck
- Strong understanding of safe equipment operation, site awareness, and working around other personnel and equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to complete basic equipment checks and maintenance.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence required.
- Valid Class 1 or Class 3 Driver’s Licence considered an asset for water truck positions.
- Standard First Aid with CPR-C & AED certification preferred.
- Ground Disturbance Level 2 considered an asset.
- CSTS, WHMIS, TDG, and other safety tickets considered assets.
- Ability to work in a remote camp environment on a rotational schedule.
- High level of reliability, initiative, professionalism, and commitment to safety.
- Ability to pass site access requirements, including any required drug and alcohol testing.
