Full job description

We are currently hiring permanent and spare/casual drivers throughout the Rainy River district.
Spare/casual positions offer very flexible scheduling. Choose when you work and get to see multiple different runs. Must have some consistent availability Monday to Friday.

Dimit Bus Lines operates buses throughout Northwestern Ontario and has been a leading transportation provider since 1992. Employment as a bus driver is a rewarding experience that provides opportunities to interact with the community. Through respect and understanding, we are able to provide the communities we serve with drivers that are friendly and dependable. We provide paid training and will guide you through the process of becoming a professional school bus driver.

Responsibilities:

- Safely operate a bus to transport passengers to their destinations

- Follow designated routes and schedules

- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations

- Ensure the bus is clean and well-maintained

- Monday – Friday split-shift work

- Evenings and weekends, only if you choose to do so

Requirements:

- 21 years of age

- Pass a provincial medical

- Pass a criminal record check

- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

- Must be able to write and communicate effectively

- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance on the bus (checking oil, refilling washer fluid, fueling bus up, etc)

- Ability to educate passengers on bus safety procedures

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions

As a Bus Driver, you will play a vital role in providing safe and reliable transportation for students. Your responsibilities will include safely operating a school bus, ensuring passenger safety, and maintaining a clean working environment. You must have a valid driver's license, clean driving record, be able to pass a criminal record check, and be able to work well with children. If you are a responsible individual with good communication skills and enjoy working with people, we encourage you to apply for this position.

We encourage applications from youth and young adults interested in a career in student transportation; applicants must be at least 21 years of age to obtain the required Ontario Class B licence.

Pay: $25.00 per hour
