Montebello Medical Clinic is looking for a friendly, organized, and patient focused Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to join our team.
We are a family and maternity primary care practice serving the Salmon Arm community and are proud to be a UBC affiliated teaching clinic, supporting both exceptional patient care and the education of future family physicians.
As a Medical Office Assistant, you'll play an important role in creating a welcoming experience for patients while supporting physicians in delivering exceptional care. This is a dynamic role that combines front office administration with hands on clinical support in a collaborative and fast paced clinic environment.

Key Responsibilities
· Provide exceptional patient service by welcoming patients, answering telephone calls, responding to inquiries, scheduling appointments, managing the reception area, and creating a calm, professional, and welcoming experience from arrival through departure.
· Support physicians and clinic administration by preparing requisitions, forms, and correspondence; maintaining accurate electronic medical records through scanning, linking, filing, faxing, and processing incoming documentation; coordinating laboratory services; and supporting physician billing processes, including MSP and Non- Insured billing, as required.
· Coordinate patient care by checking patients in, preparing patients for appointments including height, weight, blood pressure measurement and vision screening, escorting them to examination rooms, answering patient questions, supporting patient flow throughout the clinic, and providing post appointment service.
· Perform laboratory, clinical support and light custodial duties by preparing, cleaning, and stocking examination and treatment rooms, collecting laboratory specimens, performing approved point of care testing, transporting specimens to the hospital laboratory, cleaning and sterilizing medical instruments and equipment in accordance with clinic procedures, shredding confidential documents, end of day vacuuming/mopping and garbage/recycling disposal.
· Support day to day clinic operations by assisting physicians and colleagues with administrative and clinical tasks, helping maintain efficient clinic workflow, and performing other related duties as required to support patient care.
· Maintain confidentiality and professional standards by safeguarding patient information, complying with clinic policies and applicable privacy legislation, and maintaining a respectful, professional approach in all interactions.
What Makes You a Great Fit?
- Medical Office Assistant certification is preferred; however, an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- You have 1–2 years of experience working as a Medical Office Assistant or in a medical clinic environment.
- Experience with Accuro EMR is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of MSP billing is considered an asset.
- You are comfortable using Microsoft Office and electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- You are highly organized with excellent attention to detail and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
- You communicate professionally and compassionately with patients, physicians, and colleagues.
- You enjoy working collaboratively and supporting your teammates.
- You take ownership of your work and demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and reliability.
- You remain calm, organized, and patient focused during busy clinic periods.
- Successful candidates must meet the clinic's immunization requirements.
