Full job description

High School Math Instructors

Mathnasium is a math-only learning centre that offers both math help and enrichment to students in grades 1-12. Each student in our program receives a customized learning plan based on our proprietary teaching material. Join us for the opportunity to make a difference in a child's life by passing on a love for math! We offer part-time jobs with flexible scheduling and ongoing training opportunities. This is a great opportunity to enrich a resume for young students in STEM and other careers that require math knowledge.

Required Qualifications:

Exceptional math skills
Familiarity with Ontario's grade 9 to 12 math curriculum
Excellent communication and multi-tasking skills
Ability to professionally interact with students of all ages and parents
Energetic and confident personality
Having a post-secondary degree or working towards one in the math/science/engineering field and other degrees that require strong math skills.
Previous teaching experience or other experience working with children (e.g. tutoring, camp counsellor)

The learning centre environment is supportive and encouraging. Applicants should love teaching and be able to motivate students.

This is an in person position, not virtual. Hiring for four locations (971 College Street, 361 Windermere Avenue, 1854 Queen Street East, 138 Danforth Ave. ). Candidates need to be able to get to all locations. All locations are easily accessible by TTC.

Hours may vary but could include mid-afternoon through early evening hours (Monday - Friday) and weekend mid-mornings through mid-afternoons, approximately 8-18 hours per week or more (flexible). Candidate, at the very least, needs to be available twice a week on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and/or Thursday, starting at 3:30 pm or 4:00 pm until at least 7:00 pm up to 8:15 pm.
