Maintenance & Landscaping Associate

We're looking for a Maintenance/Landscaping Associate to help create exceptional living environments for our Residents while maintaining the appearance, safety, and functionality of our communities year-round.
This is a unique hybrid role that combines landscaping, groundskeeping, equipment operation, seasonal maintenance, and building upkeep. Every day offers a different challenge, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy hands-on work and seeing the results of their efforts.
What You'll Do
Landscaping & Grounds Maintenance
- Maintain attractive, safe, and well-kept outdoor spaces throughout the year.
- Mow, trim, edge, water, and care for lawns and landscaped areas.
- Maintain flower beds, shrubs, trees, and hedges through pruning, weeding, planting, and seasonal care.
- Apply fertilizers, weed control products, and soil treatments as required.
- Assist with irrigation system start-up, monitoring, repairs, and winterization.
- Complete spring and fall landscaping programs including cleanup, planting, leaf removal, and seasonal preparations.
Seasonal Property Care
- Perform snow and ice removal, sanding, and salting to maintain safe walkways and drive lanes.
- Complete required weather and snow removal documentation.
- Support seasonal projects including power washing, line painting, pothole repairs, and property beautification initiatives.
Equipment Operation
- Safely operate and maintain landscaping and groundskeeping equipment, including:
- Skid-Steers (Bobcats)
- Sweepers
- Lawn mowers
- Snow removal equipment (backpack blower, shovel)
- Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and minor repairs to equipment.
- Assist in training team members on the safe operation of landscaping equipment.
Property Maintenance
- Perform general building and common area maintenance.
- Complete vacant suite touch-ups and minor repairs to established quality standards.
- Paint suites, hallways, parkades, and common areas as assigned.
- Remove furniture, appliances, and debris as required.
- Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and report deficiencies.
Community & Resident Support
- Contribute to a clean, welcoming, and safe environment for Residents and visitors.
- Communicate effectively with site teams and leadership.
- Coordinate with contractors to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to expectations.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to address after-hours maintenance emergencies.
What You Bring
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of landscaping, groundskeeping, maintenance, or related experience preferred.
- Experience operating landscaping or heavy equipment is considered a strong asset.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience performing minor equipment maintenance is an asset.
Technical Skills
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License required.
- Experience operating Skid-Steers (Bobcats) and other groundskeeping equipment.
- Ability to safely operate snow removal equipment, sweepers, and lawn maintenance equipment.
- Comfortable using mobile devices and tablets for work-related reporting.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
