Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role is essential in supporting pharmacists and ensuring smooth pharmacy operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in medical terminology, patient care, and medication management, with prior experience in hospital or pharmacy settings being highly advantageous. The Pharmacy Assistant will play a vital role in assisting with medication preparation, patient interactions, and administrative tasks to provide exceptional service and support to our patients and healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

Assist pharmacists with dispensing medications accurately and efficiently
Prepare prescription labels and package medications according to safety standards
Manage inventory by restocking supplies and medications, ensuring proper storage conditions
Provide excellent patient care by answering questions and offering guidance under pharmacist supervision
Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, medication logs, and patient information
Support administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and processing insurance claims
Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, including proper handling of medications and documentation
Collaborate with healthcare team members to facilitate seamless patient service and medication management

Skills

Experience working in hospital or pharmacy environments is preferred
Prior pharmacy technician experience is highly advantageous
Strong understanding of medical terminology and medication administration procedures
Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach
Ability to accurately interpret prescriptions and communicate effectively with patients and staff
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills to manage inventory and records
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare setting while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
Knowledge of safety protocols related to medication handling and storage
