We are a privately run farm located 20 minutes from Calgary, Alberta, and are looking for a Barn Manager.
An exceptional opportunity is available for an experienced, dedicated Barn Manager to join a small, exclusive, family-owned private equestrian farm.
We are seeking a knowledgeable horseperson who takes pride in maintaining the highest standards of horse care and stable management. This is a hands-on role for someone who is organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and enjoys working in a quiet, respectful environment where quality is valued over quantity.
Responsibilities include:
- Daily care and monitoring of horses
- Feeding, turnout, and coordinating individualized care
- Stall and barn management to an exceptional standard
- Lunging and exercising horses safely and confidently as required
- Monitoring horse health and communicating any concerns promptly
- Coordinating veterinarians, farriers, and other equine professionals
- Managing feed, bedding, and supply inventories
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming barn environment
- Assisting with scheduling and general farm operations
Qualifications:
- Extensive horse care and stable management experience
- Proven experience lunging horses safely, correctly, and confidently
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Calm, patient, and compassionate approach to horses
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and integrity
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation
