Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team! In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience. Your expertise in medical and dental office procedures, combined with strong administrative skills, will help facilitate efficient patient flow, accurate record keeping, and seamless communication between patients and healthcare providers. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to quality patient care in a fast-paced, supportive environment.

Responsibilities

Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent front desk service in a professional manner
Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and relay messages promptly
Maintain accurate electronic medical records using Epic or similar electronic health record systems
Verify patient insurance information and assist with billing procedures using Dentrix or comparable dental practice management software
Prepare exam rooms, assist with patient intake, and update medical and dental histories with precision
Coordinate appointment scheduling, cancellations, and follow-ups efficiently to optimize provider availability
Handle administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and managing correspondence to support daily clinic operations

Requirements

Proven experience working in a medical office environment with familiarity in front desk duties
Strong knowledge of medical terminology for accurate communication and documentation
Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Effective communication skills to interact confidently with patients, staff, and healthcare providers
Experience operating multi-line phone systems and handling high-volume call environments
Prior office experience in healthcare settings is preferred;
