Position: Library Clerk/Admin 4

Location: Good Shepherd Elementary School

Hours/Week: 17.5 Hours per week; Half time

Start Date: August 13, 2026

Closing Date: July 17, 2026

Job Reference: GSL-07082026

The Fort McMurray Roman Catholic Separate School Division requires a half time Librarian/Admin Assistant at Good Shepherd School.

Qualifications:

Certificate or Diploma in Business/Office Administration or considerable related experience in similar position or field
At least 2 years of recent experience in library or office administration work

Requirements:

Provide library support by performing technical tasks such as collection management, cataloguing, document delivery and reference services
Proficiently operate student information and Library software programs
Perform basic troubleshooting and maintain and keep operational media assets such as IPads, desktop computers
Facilitate associated library activities such as book fairs, create library environment that support current curriculum
Provide support and guidance regarding the use of internet as an educational tool for student learning
Maintain and facilitate internet/email set up for students
Typing/data entry skills and above average oral and written communication skills
Proficiency of use in Microsoft Office products of Word, Excel and Outlook or equivalent at intermediate level
Excellent customer service skills that support establishing and maintaining effective relationships with students, staff and parents/guardians
Ability to prioritize and manage time effective and efficiently and be organized, while working in a fast paced, constantly changing environment within a school setting
Administrative support in the main office, including child check if required
Coverage for school administrative assistant as required
Other duties as assigned by the school Principal

The successful candidate will be required to provide a Criminal Reference Check and a Vulnerable Sector Check. FMCSD will contact past and present employers for references. All FMCSD employees are expected to be computer literate; this includes fluency with e-mail, Internet and MS Office.
