The Hub Family Resource Centre | Fort McMurray, AB
Full-Time | 37.5 Hours per Week
Monday to Friday | 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The posting will close September 18, 2026.
Be the person who helps keep The Hub connected, welcoming and moving forward.
The Hub Family Resource Centre is looking for a dedicated, energetic and proactive FRN Hub Coordinator to join our team.
We’re looking for someone who notices what needs to be done, takes initiative, follows through, builds relationships naturally and takes pride in creating an organized and welcoming environment for everyone who walks through our doors.
At The Hub, we work with children, caregivers, families and community partners throughout Wood Buffalo. Our organization is busy, collaborative and deeply connected to the community we serve. The person in this role will be at the centre of much of that activity.
If you are someone who loves people, organization, communication and making things happen, we would love to hear from you.
What You’ll Do
As our FRN Hub Coordinator, you’ll help keep the day-to-day operations of The Hub running smoothly while also serving as one of the first points of connection for families, visitors and community partners.
Your days will be varied and may include:
- Welcoming families, visitors and community partners to The Hub.
- Responding to calls, emails and general inquiries and helping connect people with the right programs, services or resources.
- Supporting participant registrations and sharing information about Hub and Family Resource Network programs.
- Coordinating office supplies, facility needs, room set-ups and general office organization.
- Maintaining calendars for programs, meetings, room bookings, events and organizational activities.
- Helping coordinate community events, meetings, presentations and outreach opportunities.
- Creating and coordinating promotional materials for programs and events.
- Supporting The Hub’s website, social media channels and organizational communications.
- Developing and coordinating the Family Resource Network newsletter.
- Supporting communication and coordination between FRN and community partners.
- Representing The Hub at community events, networking opportunities, meetings and promotional activities.
- Providing administrative support to the leadership team and broader organization.
- Assisting with invoices, accounts payable, purchasing and basic financial administration.
- Pitching in wherever needed to help maintain a clean, organized, safe and welcoming centre.
Who We’re Looking For
More than anything, we are looking for the right person.
- Someone who is proactive and doesn’t need to be reminded about every next step. You see something that needs attention and help move it forward.
- Someone who is energetic and enjoys a role where different things are happening throughout the day. You bring a positive presence to the people around you.
- Someone who is organized and comfortable keeping track of calendars, communications, supplies, events, inquiries and administrative details.
- Someone who is people-focused and understands that every interaction matters, whether you’re welcoming a family into the centre, speaking with a community partner or helping a teammate.
- Someone who is dependable. When you say you’ll take care of something, people know it will get done.
- Someone who is adaptable and able to shift priorities, handle interruptions and remain calm when an unexpected situation comes up.
- Someone who is community-minded and genuinely cares about contributing to an organization that supports children, caregivers and families throughout our region.
What You Bring
We’re looking for someone with:
- Experience in administration, reception, office coordination, customer service or a similar role.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Confidence managing multiple priorities in a busy environment.
- Strong follow-up and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work independently while being an engaged member of a collaborative team.
- Strong computer and digital skills, including comfort with email, calendars, documents, spreadsheets, websites, social media and online systems.
- The ability to create clear, professional and engaging communications.
- Sound judgment and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
- Cultural awareness and the ability to work respectfully with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
Post-secondary education in Office Administration, Business Administration, Human Services, Communications or a related field is preferred; however, an equivalent combination of education, training and relevant experience will also be considered.
Experience in a nonprofit, community service, family support or similar environment is an asset.

Some travel within Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo and occasional evening or weekend work may be required for meetings, community events and outreach activities.
