Job Title: Food & Beverage Manager

Position Type: Permanent, Full-Time (Year-Round)

Location: Vista Ridge (Fort McMurray, AB)

Schedule: Evenings, Weekends, and Holidays required

About the Role

Vista Ridge is seeking an energetic, experienced, and dynamic Food & Beverage Manager to lead our culinary and dining operations. This full-time, year-round leadership role is responsible for overseeing daily F&B operations, delivering high standards of food quality and guest service, driving revenue, and maintaining cost controls across all facility venues.

Key Responsibilities

· Food & Beverage Leadership: Directly oversees the entire Food & Beverage team across all operational areas, including the lounge, cafeteria, events and beverage cart services, ensuring high standards of guest service, quality control, food presentation, and sanitary standards.

· Financial Management & Inventory: Oversee menu pricing, food and beverage cost controls, labor budgets, inventory audits, and end-of-day register/POS reconciliations.

· Staff Management & Development: Recruit, schedule, train, and mentor front-of-house and kitchen personnel to build a cohesive, customer-focused team.

· Guest Experience & Vendor Relations: Address guest feedback and resolve service concerns proactively; maintain solid relationships with vendors, suppliers, and distributors to negotiate quality pricing.

· Menu Planning & Pricing: Responsible for ongoing menu creation, including seasonal adjustments to both offerings and pricing to reflect market conditions and seasonal availability.

· Events & Group Catering: Responsible for designing and the execution of custom menus and tailored group menu options for private and corporate events.

· Janitorial & Facilities Maintenance: Directly responsible for overseeing the janitorial team and ensuring the overall upkeep, cleanliness, and sanitization of the lodge facilities.

· Compliance & Safety: Ensure strict compliance with provincial food safety regulations, liquor laws (AHS / AGLC regulations), and workplace health and safety protocols.

· Cross-Department Collaboration: Works closely with executive management and senior department heads to ensure aligned operations, guest satisfaction, and strategic planning.

Qualifications & Requirements

· Work Authorization: Must be legally entitled to work in Canada (Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or holder of a valid Canadian work permit).

Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years of hospitality management or supervisory experience in a restaurant, resort, or recreational venue setting.
Availability: Must have full flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays according to business demand.
Financial Aptitude: Proven experience managing budgets, labor targets, food costs, inventory control systems, and POS reporting.
Certifications: ProServe / Responsible Beverage Service certification and Food Safety Certification required (First Aid / CPR is an asset).
Leadership & Communication: Excellent communication, conflict-resolution, and organizational skills, with a track record of building top-performing teams.

Compensation & Benefits

Employment Status: Permanent, Full-Time (Year-Round)
Salary: $70,000 per year
