Position: Security Dispatcher
Type: Full Time
Location: Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta
Pay Rate: $27.62 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts (days, nights, weekends, and statutory/religious holidays)
Overview:
We are seeking a Security Dispatcher to join our team in a steady, established industrial setting. In this high-responsibility role, you will act as the critical link between the site and our safety operations. You will provide real-time support for emergency incidents, monitor advanced security systems, and coordinate field responses. This position is ideal for a professional who thrives in fast-paced, high-stakes environments and is looking to build a career in emergency operations.
Key Requirements :
To ensure the safety and operational standards of our industrial clients, all applicants must meet the following requirements:
- 1–3 years of experience in a dispatch or high-volume call center role.
- Be willing to obtain a provincial security license; Allied Universal can provide full support and guidance throughout the licensing process

High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able and willing to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and statutory/religious holidays.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to provide clear, concise instructions under pressure.
- Strong computer skills, including the ability to navigate facility maps and monitor security/alarm systems.
- Prior security-related experience is considered an asset.

Physical/Safety Requirements:

Must pass a comprehensive pre-employment background check (clean criminal record).
- Must successfully pass a mandatory pre-employment drug and alcohol (D&A) test.
- Must comply with site-specific clean-shave policies for Health and Safety compliance.
- Must possess hearing and vision (including color vision) appropriate for call-taking and dispatching functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatch appropriate services to incident locations, and act as the primary interface between Shell and external agencies during site-wide emergencies.

Monitor CCTV cameras, access control, and security alarm systems, ensuring timely assessment and relay of information.

Maintain clear, professional communication with field personnel via radio and telephone, even during high-volume periods.

Effectively prioritize service calls, manage manpower allocation, and perform after-hour callouts. Utilize acquired tools and training to problem-solve on the go.

Remain calm and composed under pressure; demonstrate the ability to multitask effectively while managing simultaneous communication streams.

Immediately enact the public complaint process (e.g., noise complaints) and serve as the official emergency contact for Pipelines and the Sherwood Marketing Terminal. Operate all communication equipment in a consistently courteous, professional, and expedient manner.
Training & Systems
The successful applicant will complete the Dispatcher Training Program, covering site orientation, emergency procedures, incident drills, and report writing. You will utilize the following systems:
- Access Control, Site Paging, and Radio Systems
- Site Telecommunication Systems
- Headcount Assembly System
