Full job description

Maple Leaf Homes, located in Fredericton, New Brunswick, builds homes with a focus on quality craftsmanship, practical innovation, and teamwork. We are a hands-on, fast-moving workplace where safety, respect, and accountability matter. We value people who take pride in their work, support those around them, and help make our workplace safer and stronger every day.

We are looking for a reliable and responsible Night Shift Security Guard to protect our facility during evening and overnight hours. This position operates on a rotating schedule of 7 consecutive days on followed by 7 consecutive days off, with each rotation beginning on Thursday.

Responsibilities and duties:

Conduct routine patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter fencing.
Monitor access points and ensure only authorized individuals enter the property.
Observe and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, security breaches, or incidents.
Complete detailed shift logs and incident reports.
Respond appropriately to emergency situations and contact emergency services when required.
Verify that doors, gates, and equipment are properly secured.
Assist with monitoring alarm systems, cameras, and security equipment.
Support a safe work environment by identifying and reporting health and safety concerns.

Qualifications and Skills:

Previous security, law enforcement, military, or related experience is considered an asset.
Valid Security Guard License would be considered a strong asset.
A clear Criminal Record Check is required and must be maintained throughout employment.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Comfortable walking and standing for extended periods.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation.
