We are actively seeking an experienced Quality Engineer / Supplier Quality Engineer (QE/SQE) to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring product and supplier quality across the full product lifecycle, supporting both internal manufacturing operations and external supply chain partners. This position requires a strong technical quality background, experience in high-reliability manufacturing environments, and the ability to collaborate effectively across Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and external suppliers.
- Act as the technical liaison between suppliers, Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to ensure accurate interpretation and flow-down of technical, process, and quality requirements
- Design, implement, maintain, and improve quality assurance protocols, inspection methods, and quality systems for materials, components, and finished products
- Drive Design for Excellence (DFx) principles including Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Assembly (DFA), Testability (DFT), and Reliability (DFR) to improve product quality, manufacturability, and cost
- Lead and participate in DFMEA and PFMEA activities to identify, mitigate, and reduce risk throughout the product lifecycle
- Lead Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities for new product introductions, engineering changes, and supplier qualifications
- Evaluate, qualify, and audit suppliers based on technical capability, process maturity, and compliance to applicable quality and regulatory standards
- Perform supplier and internal audits, assign corrective actions, and verify implementation and effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Own supplier nonconformance management activities including SCAR issuance, root cause analysis, containment activities, and corrective action verification using methodologies such as 8D, Fishbone, and FTA
- Review and approve technical documentation including drawings, specifications, control plans, inspection instructions, First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR), and device history records for compliance and traceability
- Design and improve methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating production processes, equipment, and finished products
- Collect, organize, analyze, and report on quality and production data to identify trends and recommend improvements to quality standards, procedures, and manufacturing processes
- Develop and maintain supplier and production quality metrics including DPPM, yield, scrap, on-time delivery, and field failure trends
- Participate in project reviews and boards including technical design reviews, peer reviews, material review boards (MRB), change control boards (CCB), and failure review boards (FRB)
- Partner with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to resolve complex technical and quality issues related to RF systems, electronics, electromechanical assemblies, and manufacturing processes
- Support capacity planning, supplier readiness, risk mitigation, and make/buy decisions for new and sustaining programs
- Participate in continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives across projects and operations
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and direction to lower-level employees as required
- Communicate quality issues, risks, impacts, and mitigation plans effectively to internal stakeholders, suppliers, and customers
- Work independently as an individual technical contributor while actively participating on cross-functional project teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- 5+ years of Quality Engineering and/or Supplier Quality Engineering experience within high-reliability manufacturing industries
- Strong knowledge of quality methodologies, tools, techniques, and standards related to manufacturing, electronics, RF systems, electromechanical assemblies, or medical devices
- Experience with:
- DFx methodologies (DFM, DFA, DFT, DFR)
- DFMEA and PFMEA development
- APQP and PPAP implementation
- Root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies (8D, Fishbone, FTA, CAPA)
- Supplier qualification, audits, and performance management
- Strong understanding of quality management systems and regulatory standards including ISO 9001, ISO 13485, AS9100, FDA QSR (21 CFR Part 820), MDSAP, and CE Marking
- Experience in electronics, RF, power electronics, high-voltage systems, or medical device manufacturing and testing environments
- Hands-on experience with inspection methods, test equipment, validation activities, and manufacturing quality controls
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions
- Strong technical documentation review experience including drawings, specifications, procedures, and inspection plans
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical issues effectively across all levels of the organization
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, organizational, and multitasking abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and quality/data analysis tools
- Experience working in NPI, project management, and cross-functional team environments
- Ability to independently determine approaches to complex technical and quality challenges
