Position Title: Bookkeeper (Temporary)

Position Type: Full time

This position is part of a unionized bargaining unit. The hourly wage for this position starts at $25.35 and is established in accordance with the collective agreement. Depending on a candidate’s relevant knowledge, skills, education, and prior experience, a higher hourly wage may be offered. Any hourly wage offered for this role, whether starting or higher, will fall within the wage scale established for this position in accordance with the collective agreement.

This posting is for an existing approximate 3-4 weeks or longer, to cover a temporary absence

Responsibilities

Maintaining price integrity for the store; printing reports, preparing & maintaining accurate signage, aisle verification
Payroll; entering schedules, editing punches, maintaining employee data files, verifying & transmitting payroll
Supports front end operations
Employee file maintenance; reviewing new hire, orientation and training packages, completing updates, terminations, benefits, etc.
Receiving log; entering invoices, credits & transfers, cross balance with backdoor log, file invoices accordingly
Inventory; assisting with accounting procedures with perishable inventories
Implementing and adhering to Customer Service Policy
Adhering to Company policies and procedures and government regulations concerning health & safety, sanitation, security, etc.
Administrative assistant to Store Manager and Management Team
Performing other duties as assigned by the Store Manager

General Qualifications

Community college graduate or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Minimum 1 year office, bookkeeping and/or accounting experience in retail environment which includes payroll
Superior customer service skills
Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills
Ability to multi-task and remain calm under pressure
Strong computers skills, BDMS, MS-Office, Word, and Excel applications
Available to work days, evenings, and weekends, as required
