Expert Mobile Communications is a locally owned and operated communications company serving Grande Prairie and clients across Western Canada for over 30 years.
We are looking for an experienced Wireless, Radio & SCADA Communications Technician to join our team. This is a hands-on field position working with two-way radio systems, SCADA/data radios, cellular boosters, repeaters, wireless networks and related communications technology.
Responsibilities
- Install, program, troubleshoot and repair two-way radio systems
- Install, configure and troubleshoot SCADA/data radio communication systems
- Install mobile radios and communications equipment in vehicles and equipment
- Install and service cellular boosters, repeaters, antennas and wireless systems
- Troubleshoot RF, SCADA and wireless communication issues
- Install and support antennas, cabling, access points, switches and routers
- Complete field installations, service calls and preventative maintenance
- Perform tower and work-at-height duties when required
- Test equipment, diagnose signal issues and ensure reliable communications
- Maintain accurate service and installation records
- Work independently while supporting the broader Expert team
Qualifications
- 1–2+ years of experience in SCADA, radio communications, wireless communications, telecom or a related technical field
- Experience with SCADA/data radios and RF communications is a strong asset
- Two-way radio experience, including Motorola, Kenwood or similar systems, is an asset
- Experience with cellular boosters, repeaters, antennas and wireless networking is an asset
- Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills
- Comfortable completing field work and working at heights when required
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence with a clean driving record
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
