Job Summary
Single Source Project Management Inc. is seeking an experienced Field Operations Foreman / Equipment & Documentation Coordinator to support our field operations, equipment readiness, and safety documentation requirements.
This position is based out of Grande Prairie, Alberta, and the successful candidate must currently reside in Grande Prairie or the surrounding area. This is not a fly-in/fly-out position.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with hot oilers, combo vac units, hydrovac units, high-pressure trucks, and related field equipment. The role involves travelling between job sites, supporting field crews, checking equipment condition, reviewing safety documentation, communicating with clients, and coordinating parts, repairs, maintenance, and operational follow-up.
This position requires someone who understands field work, equipment, documentation, client expectations, and the importance of keeping operations moving safely and professionally.
Key Responsibilities
The Field Operations Foreman / Equipment & Documentation Coordinator will be responsible for:
- Supporting daily field operations involving hot oilers, combo vac units, hydrovac units, high-pressure trucks, and related equipment.
- Travelling to worksites in and around the Grande Prairie area to check on crews, equipment condition, safety requirements, and job progress.
- Reviewing FLHAs, hazard assessments, pre-job documents, permits, inspection forms, and other required field documentation.
- Ensuring field employees are completing required paperwork accurately and consistently.
- Following up with foremen, operators, and field workers when documentation is incomplete, missing, or requires correction.
- Ensuring equipment is inspected, maintained, clean, organized, and ready for work.
- Identifying equipment issues, repair needs, missing tools, damaged components, or operational concerns.
- Coordinating parts, supplies, repairs, and maintenance support as required.
- Ordering, picking up, or arranging delivery of parts, tools, equipment, and supplies when needed.
- Communicating professionally with clients, customers, supervisors, management, operators, and field crews.
- Supporting client documentation requests and ensuring customer care is maintained.
- Assisting with equipment scheduling, field readiness, and crew support.
- Ensuring workers follow company policies, safety procedures, client requirements, and applicable regulatory expectations.
- Supporting housekeeping expectations for trucks, equipment, yards, shops, and field locations.
- Reporting safety concerns, equipment concerns, near misses, incidents, maintenance issues, and operational delays to management.
- Coaching field workers and foremen on proper documentation, safe work practices, and equipment care.
Required Experience
Candidates should have experience with one or more of the following:
- Hot oiler operations
- Combo vac operations
- Hydrovac operations
- High-pressure truck operations
- Vacuum truck or pressure truck work
- Field supervision or foreman experience
- Equipment maintenance coordination
- Safety documentation review
- Client-facing field work
- Industrial, civil, oilfield, utility, construction, or maintenance environments
Required Skills and Qualifications
The successful candidate must have:
- Must currently reside in Grande Prairie, Alberta, or the surrounding area.
- Strong working knowledge of field equipment and safe operating practices.
- Ability to identify equipment deficiencies, maintenance concerns, and operational issues.
- Experience reviewing FLHAs, pre-job documents, equipment inspections, permits, and field paperwork.
- Strong communication skills with workers, foremen, clients, and management.
- Ability to hold workers accountable in a professional and respectful manner.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to coordinate parts, tools, supplies, and repairs as needed.
- Strong attention to detail with documentation and field compliance.
- Ability to travel between field sites as required.
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Clean or acceptable driver’s abstract.
- Ability to pass client pre-access requirements where applicable.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference may be given to candidates with:
- Class 1 or Class 3 driver’s licence.
- Air brake endorsement.
- Experience operating or supervising hydrovac, combo vac, hot oiler, or high-pressure units.
- First Aid.
- H2S Alive.
- CSTS.
- WHMIS.
- Ground Disturbance.
- TDG.
- Confined Space.
- Fall Protection.
- Client site orientation experience.
- Experience using electronic documentation or fleet systems such as Motive, SiteDocs, Connecteam, or similar platforms.
Physical and Work Conditions
This position may require:
- Travel between field sites, yards, shops, and client locations.
- Work outdoors in changing weather conditions.
- Entering active construction, industrial, utility, or oilfield work areas.
- Wearing required PPE.
- Walking around equipment, trucks, job sites, and uneven terrain.
- Occasional lifting, carrying, parts pickup, and equipment support.
- Responding to operational needs outside standard hours when required.
