Your Opportunity:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. As a Case Manager with the Intensive Home Care Team, you will have the opportunity to work within a unique and diverse environment and enjoy the benefits of a larger team while collaborating with other professionals. As part of a team of Registered Nurses, Social Workers, and Discharge Coordinators, you will support client assessment and transitions from acute care to community/facility Living Options. Your success will come from creating partnerships and relationships with clients, families and coworkers that will lead to the best client outcomes, and enhance quality of life. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the past five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required prior to employment: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4): https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/learning-and-development/learning-modules NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification: https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Current CPR. 5 years RN experience dealing with all entire age spectrum including seniors. Currently registered with CRNA as a Registered Nurse in good standing. Possess a positive attitude. Strong communication skills, including soft skills. Detail-oriented. Experience supervising staff, especially professional nursing staff. Experience in recruitment processes. Management skills. Able to maintain professional boundaries.

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated teaching skills. Supportive Pathways/P.I.E.C.E.S. Medication Assistance Program (MAP). Management certification. Quality improvement/change management experience. Familiar with standards and accreditation processes.
