Position Summary
Weaver Group Ltd. is currently accepting applications for Journeyman Pipefitters to support projects operating in the Grande Prairie area.
The Journeyman Pipefitter will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and testing piping systems while following Weaver Group’s safety program, Safe Work Practices, and Procedures.
This position requires strong technical knowledge, the ability to interpret drawings and specifications, and a commitment to working safely and efficiently in an industrial construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
The Journeyman Pipefitter is responsible for, but not limited to:
- Operating and maintaining equipment in accordance with WGL guidelines
- Completing daily field tickets, pre-trip inspections, and hazard assessments
- Following WGL safety program, including Safe Work Practices and Procedures
- Studying blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine piping requirements and sequence of work
- Drafting detailed sketches for pipe and equipment fabrication and installation, as required
- Measuring, cutting, threading, grooving, bending, assembling, and installing metal, plastic, and fiberglass piping systems
- Installing valves, fittings, and related piping equipment
- Joining pipe sections and securing systems in position
- Using testing equipment to inspect systems and identify leaks
- Performing maintenance and repairs on piping systems and associated equipment
Qualifications & Experience
- Journeyman Pipefitter Certification required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence required
- Standard First Aid required
- H2S Alive required
- CSO required
- Fall Arrest, Confined Space, and Aerial Platform certifications considered an asset
- Experience in pipeline, facility, or industrial construction considered an asset
