Basic Function and Scope:

The Stores Clerk is responsible for the shipping and receiving of all goods and equipment for the hospital along with replenishing and maintaining unit supply storage locations throughout the hospital and accurately maintaining the computerized inventory control system.

Hours of Work:

Monday to Friday – varied hours

Pay Rate:

$26.44-$26.93

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

Secondary School Graduation Diploma;
Training in buying, accounting and related computer courses (i.e. Excel), considered an asset;
Certification in Transportation of Dangerous Goods, or willingness to obtain;
Lift Truck Operator’s Safety Training Certificate or willingness to obtain.

Experience

One year of acceptable recent experience in a hospital stores department or equivalent setting, would be considered an asset.

Required Skills

Excellent interpersonal skills;
Must have demonstrated ability in the use of computerized inventory control systems;
Perform all required job functions with minimal supervision;
Excellent organization with ability to work under time restraints and meet deadlines;
Must have ability to effectively deal with all hospital personnel, courier services, companies and external agencies;
Ability to work in a team environment;
Must have annual review education completed;
Must have previous proven good performance and attendance record.
