The John M. Parrott Centre is a fully accredited state-of-the-art, 168 bed long-term care home located in the Town of Greater Napanee. What you will do:
Reporting to the Resident Service Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting our mission to enhance the well-being of the individuals and communities we serve. Your key responsibilities will include:
Develop and prepare engaging programs tailored to residents’ interests and needs
Facilitate programs and activities, ensuring meaningful participation and a positive atmosphere
Document program delivery and outcomes
Collaborate with volunteers to support effective program delivery
What you will bring:
We are looking for someone who shares our passion for helping people live their best lives and brings:
Diploma or degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies, Therapeutic Recreation, Kinesiology, or a related field
Current Safe Food Handlers and First Aid/CPR certification
Courses in Gerontology and Restorative Care considered an asset
Experience in planning and implementing programs for people with varied cognitive and physical abilities
Strong interpersonal, communication and computer skills
Strong team player, supporting colleagues and fostering a collaborative environment, while also able to work independently when needed
Empathy and sincere commitment to the well-being of all individuals in long-term care, regardless of age
Proven ability to attend work regularly and punctually
Able to meet the physical and cognitive demands of the position
A satisfactory Criminal Record Check, including a Vulnerable Sector, is a condition of employment
