About the job:
As a Geological Core Technician, you will work closely with the geological team and drill contractors, supporting daily core handling, sampling, core shack activities, and field operations.
What you’ll do:

Handle drill core and manage core storage areas
-
Label and organize core boxes
-
Determine RQD and core recovery
-
Photograph drill core and maintain organized records
-
Assist geologists with marking drill core for sampling
-
Cut and sample marked drill core
-
Sort, bag, tag, and organize drill core samples
-
Assist with maintaining accurate and organized core and sample information
-
Travel to diamond drill locations as required to assist with hole locations and drill core retrieval
-
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation throughout the day

Communicate and work closely with geologists, drill contractors, and other project personnel
-
Follow all applicable health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures
-
Perform other exploration and core-related duties as required
What you need:

High school diploma
-
1–2 years of relevant experience
-
Previous core cutting experience or similar experience within the mining industry is considered an asset
-
Familiarity with core handling, sampling, RQD, and core recovery is an asset
-
Basic Microsoft Office skills are considered an asset
-
Valid driver’s licence and ability to provide a current driver’s abstract
-
Ability to travel and work in remote field locations
-
Physically capable of performing daily manual tasks and lifting up to 60 lbs

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Reliable, responsible, and able to demonstrate initiative

Ability to accurately read, understand, and follow instructions and procedures

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental practices

Ability to meet company requirements to operate company vehicles
