Castle Arts is looking to hire a Visual Arts Teacher

Castle Arts was founded in 2017 and committed to offering comprehensive art education and guiding students on their artistic journeys. Our mission is to provide every student with the opportunity to learn and excel in art by nurturing their creativity and empowering them to explore their artistic potential. We are deeply passionate about inspiring young minds and are dedicated to fostering a love for art in our students. To fulfill our mission, we prioritize supporting our teachers by ensuring small class sizes and providing them with the necessary resources to deliver exceptional instruction.

The Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Visual Arts Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate for this position will have a background in visual arts, as well as the ability to effectively communicate and instruct students across a variety of mediums.

As a Visual Arts Teacher, you will teach students in a 6:1 semi-private learning environment using our existing curriculum and adding to it as you see fit. You will be responsible for delivering engaging curriculum-based lessons, developing innovative activities, and providing constructive feedback to help students reach their goals. Resources and assistance will be provided to aid in your responsibilities.

Responsibilities/Duties:

Teach art classes for students Gr. 1 to Gr. 12
Provide constructive feedback and guidance to students
Assess student progress and maintain accurate records of their work
Maintain a clean and organized classroom
Maintain a supportive and inclusive learning environment
Collaborate with other art teachers and staff
Ensure the safety and well-being of students during art classes.
On occasion, communicate with parents or guardians

Qualifications:

Post-secondary degree/diploma, discipline in Fine Arts, Art Education, or related field is an asset
Experience teaching in an academic or community setting
Strong knowledge of various art techniques and mediums
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrate organizational and time management skills
Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for working with children/teens
Familiarity with current educational technology and digital art tools is an asset

Schedule:

Part-time positions available for weekday evening and weekend availability.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $27.00 per hour

Flexible language requirement:

French not required

Education:

Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

Experience:

Teaching: 1 year (required)
