Job Description:

We are looking for a highly organized and motivated Dispatch Planner who will be responsible for scheduling the timely and efficient delivery of our customers’ products. The Dispatch Planner will also be responsible for maintaining shipping documentation and coordinating with our sales team.

Responsibilities:

Plan efficient daily truck routes, maximize truck utilization, and schedule same-day routes based on customer requirements
Book loads and negotiate rates for Canada/US cross border loads with good geographic knowledge
Monitor and update real-time pick-up requests and review previous schedules to address any issues or concerns
Respond to phone and emails requests and queries in a timely manner
Monitor customer cameras and schedule pick-ups accordingly
Follow driver runs and address any concerns or issues that arise
Liaise with traders regarding customer concerns and resolve
Complete daily transportation and fleet checklists
Liaise with drivers regarding any accidents and take appropriate action
Review driver logs/inspection reports for any items or concerns that may require repair
Ensure all tasks are completed in a safe manner in compliance with regulatory, legislative guidelines and company health and safety policies and procedures

Requirements:

Post-secondary education in Logistics/Operators is an asset
Previous experience as a dispatcher
Good knowledge of Canada/US georgraphy
Knowledge of WHMIS, Spill Response and Environmental and Quality Policy is an asset.
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other related software
Ability to perform simple arithmetic computations required to calculate weights/deductions
Ability to multi-task and prioritize
Ability to work well under pressure
Flexible to work extended hours occasionally.
