Full job description

Job Summary

Join our dynamic team as a Greenhouse Worker and play a vital role in cultivating healthy, vibrant plants within our state-of-the-art greenhouse facilities. This energetic position involves hands-on work to support plant growth, maintain optimal environmental conditions, and ensure the overall health of our horticultural projects. If you enjoy working outdoors and indoors, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this opportunity is perfect for you! Your efforts will directly contribute to producing high-quality plants for various applications, fostering a greener future.

Responsibilities

Assist with filling pots and containers with potting soil and moving containers and plants throught the greenhouse and shipping area.
Use hand tools and mechanical equipment to prepare soil, support plant growth, and maintain greenhouse infrastructure.
Conduct heavy lifting of plant trays, soil bags, and equipment safely and efficiently.
Assist with planting, potting, tagging, sleeving, and order assembly
General plant care; watering, weeding, planting, pruning
Harvest plants from greenhouse for shipping
Prepare work areas and materials for production
Inspect plants and materials for quality issues
Apply stickers and UPC labels
Work as part of a team to complete orders on time
Maintain a clean and safe work area
Follow all health and safety procedures
Perform other general labour duties as needed
Coordinate planting and cultivating activities

Qualifications and Requirements

Prior experience or strong interest in horticulture or gardening is preferred but not required.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and consistently throughout the shift.
Familiarity with hand tools used in gardening and greenhouse maintenance.
Strong work ethic with attention to detail and ability to follow safety procedures.
Willingness to learn new skills related to greenhouse operations and plant care.
Physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 lbs
Comfortable working in warm greenhouse environments
