Our client, a multi-site, high volume, automotive parts & systems design/manufacturer is seeking a skilled Maintenance Lead to support its Stoney Creek, ON facilities due to an upcoming retirement. This role includes a 2-week rotation of 2 shifts:
- Days: 6:00 am - 3:00 pm
- Afternoons: 3:30 pm – 12:30 am

The Job:
- Act as the initial escalation point for maintenance activities.
- Supervise the janitorial staff on shift.
- Provide direction to the maintenance trades staff in the absence of the supervisor.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to maintenance apprentices.
- Comply with all company health and safety regulations ensuring a safe work environment at all times and reporting accidents, incidents and known or potential hazards immediately.
- Promote continuous improvement in all areas of Maintenance.
- Support TPM system use.
- Interpret the Canadian Electrical Safety Code to the satisfaction of the inspection department for all construction.
- Daily perform and document scheduled maintenance as outlined on Maintenance Request logs; ensure safety issues are handled in timely manner Megamation
- Support as a member of the team the installation of new equipment
- Perform and document minor modifications and repairs to customer tooling with cross functional team.
- Troubleshoot, optimize and maintain all PLC programs and equipment as appropriate.
- Maintain an inventory of spare parts, components, and high-risk equipment.
- Trouble shoot equipment to identify electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic or electronic problems.
- Demonstrate experience with transformers, switch gears, conveyors, pumps, VFD's, fire alarm panels, HVAC, lighting panels, instrumentation calibration and troubleshooting relay logic.
- Plan, design, purchase, install and test of new branch control circuits as well as maintenance to existing systems and equipment.
- Liaison with service reps, sales persons and engineers to repair and improve equipment.
- Installation of feeds for new equipment.
- Complete maintenance on interior and exterior of facility.
- Support extended hours as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- Licensed 442A or 309A Electrician
- Demonstrated working knowledge with hand tools, applicable software (PLCs)
- Demonstrated leadership skills-preferably in a work environment
- Minimum 5 years experience as Licensed Electrician in an industrial maintenance role
