JOB SUMMARY
We are currently seeking highly motivated Carpentry Machine Operators to join our growing team in Kitchener, Ontario. This role will be responsible for running a variety of Machines, to help enhance the productivity of our organization. The successful candidates will perform work quality checks and monitor machine outputs and generate comprehensive reports for management. The ideal candidates have experience working for a manufacturing business. Machines include table saw, router, dovetail, sanders, etc.
- Perform proper set-up and calibration procedures for all equipment and accessories to be used on projects.
- Start machinery and make adjustments to machinery when necessary to improve performance.
- Ensure that every machine procedure is completed in accordance with the strict guidelines of the company.
- Troubleshoot issues and perform maintenance.
- Perform quality control, follow reporting and recordkeeping procedures and report issues to supervisor.
- Follow all company safe operating procedures and protocols.
- Inspect the work area and machines that were used daily.
- Attend and actively participate in training and safety sessions.
- Learning and development achieved through cross training as required.
- Able to work independently and meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years experience with Machines including routers.
- 2+ years experience in manufacturing.
- High school Diploma/GED.
- Knowledge of machine maintenance and operation.
- Must possess strong basic math skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Highly motivated and eager to learn and develop new skills and job roles.
- Self-starter who is able to work in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment, to bend, stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced, deadline driven and demanding environment with strong attention to detail.
