Full job description

Full-time Summer Student Support Provider: 35 hours/week - includes some weekends. Location: Cayuga/Dunnville

*Canada Summer Job Grant Requirement: Under age 30 at start of employment

Community Living Haldimand has been supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities since 1958. We are located in Haldimand County, with sites in Dunnville, Cayuga and Hagersville.

As a member of our team you will:

Receive paid training
Gain valuable on-the-job experience
Work in a supportive coaching environment
Possible employment in Fall 2025 for successful candidate

We are looking for candidates who:

Demonstrate respectful communication and are team players
Possess key threshold competencies: accountability, advocating for others, collaborating and creative problem solving
Recognize people's right of self-determination for continuous growth and development, and to live their lives as they choose
Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is an asset
Possess a valid Ontario Driver’s License - G or G2
Possess Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certificate-or take our certified course
First-Aid/CPR Level C - must be current or obtain at own cost prior to hire

Direct Support Worker responsibilities:

Support adults who have intellectual and developmental disabilities in accordance with their support plan
Participate with individuals in community activities throughout summer
Provide supports for daily living which may include ensuring a clean and safe living environment, assisting with personal hygiene, administering medications, planning and preparing meals

Applicants who participate in the interview process will be provided, upon request, accommodation to the materials and processes used in the recruitment process in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, Integrated Standards.

Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 3 months

Pay: $19.50 per hour
