Inside Fiber Optic Splicer

(“Total Install”) is a full service cabling company specializing in high quality communications networks such as Fiber Optics, high speed data cabling and CATV. With clients across Canada, Total Install has been recognized as an industry leader since 2005, delivering network cabling projects that are carefully planned and explored, with the safest, strongest connections on each end.

About the Position:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Fibre Optic Splicer. If you want to build a successful long-term career in an ever-changing industry with a company that champions your success, provides training and surrounds you with a team of like-minded people, then Total Install has a place for you.

The Fibre Optic Splicer will assist in the splicing and testing of fibre optic cables throughout Eastern Nova Scotia.

Responsibilities:

· Work in restricted or tight areas such as confined spaces
· Working at Heights
· Visit residential and commercial suites
· Label, Splice (Fusion), and Test cables
· Make records of work completed and compile test results
· Adhere to provincial health and safety regulations
· Maintain Total Install’s high quality of work

Requirements:

· Valid driver's license

· Insurable driver
· Ability to work with hand and power tools
· Knowledge of testing equipment (OTDR, Power Meters, etc)
· Knowledge of Fusion Splicing Equipment (Single, Ribbon, etc)
· Ability to carry heavy equipment of up to 50 lbs.
· Exceptional attention to detail
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills (proficient in English language, second language considered an asset)
· Strong work ethic and pride in workmanship
· Willingness to work overtime (with occasional weekends and holidays)

Communication Cabling Technician

About the Position:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Communication Cabling Technician. The Communication Cabling Technician will assist in installation of fibre optic and copper cables throughout the HRM and surrounding areas. Experience in this line of work is considered an asset, however not mandatory.

Room for advancement within company, training available.

Requirements:

· Valid driver's license

· Insurable driver

· Ability to work with hand and power tools

· Ability to carry heavy equipment of up to 100 lbs.

· Exceptional attention to detail

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills (proficient in English language, second language considered an asset)

· Strong work ethic and pride in workmanship

· Willingness to work overtime (with occasional weekends and holidays)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00-$26.00 per hour
