Clearwater Seafoods Retail Store located in Bedford, Nova Scotia is seeking a Retail Sales Associate for a part-time position. Availability to work weekend shifts is required.

Purpose of Position

The Retail Sales Associate is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the retail store, with a focus on customer service and sales support. The ideal candidate will gain hands on experience assisting customers, processing sales transactions, merchandising products, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. This role supports store operations and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced retail setting.

Reporting Structure

This position reports to the General Manager, Retail & Ecommerce & Store Supervisor.

Duties & Accountabilities:

Deliver friendly professional and high quality customer service at all times
Build and maintain positive working relationships with customers and team members
Maintain a clean organized and welcoming store environment
Handle live lobsters and other seafood products safely and with care
Ensure seafood counters are fully stocked properly displayed and rotated
Follow food safety health and workplace safety procedures consistently
Work effectively as part of a team and assist coworkers during busy periods
Adapt to changing priorities and customer needs in a fast paced environment
Show attention to detail when handling products pricing and displays
Maintain a positive and professional attitude
Carry out other duties as required to support store operations

Qualifications:

Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with customers

Previous experience in customer service or retail sales is considered an asset
Food Handlers certification or the ability to obtain one
Ability to operate a cash register and point of sale system
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance from another team member
Ability to work at both the Bedford and Halifax Airport locations is considered an asset

Working Conditions

Must be able to work with shellfish and seafood
Variety of shifts occurring throughout 7 days
Hours of work vary between 8am-7pm ( Bedford) & 6am-7 pm (Airport)
Work location is both Bedford Retail Store and Halifax Airport Retail Store
Work Hours: This is a permanent full time/part time position.
