Full job description

Dependable Emergency Vehicles is currently seeking a Pump Test / EVT On-Road Service Technician to join our growing team. This position is ideal for a mechanically inclined individual who enjoys problem-solving, working independently, and providing exceptional customer service. The successful candidate will be responsible for pump diagnostics, service, repair, maintenance, and on-road service for emergency vehicles, rescue vehicles, and specialized fire equipment throughout Atlantic Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform pump testing, inspections, and performance evaluations on fire apparatus and related equipment
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic systems
Travel to customer locations to perform service, maintenance, and emergency repairs
Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and complete service reports
Test and verify proper operation of pumps, valves, controls, and auxiliary systems
Read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics
Complete work orders, service documentation, and pump test reports accurately and efficiently
Maintain inventory and organization of service vehicle tools and parts
Communicate findings, recommendations, and repair updates with customers and management
Assist with equipment commissioning, customer training, and warranty-related repairs
Promote service opportunities and identify additional customer needs
Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Experience as a Truck & Transport Technician, Automotive Technician, Heavy Equipment Technician, Electrician, or similar trade
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
Experience with pumps, hydraulic systems, emergency vehicles, or EV systems is considered an asset
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation
Proficient with Microsoft Office and computerized diagnostic tools
Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract
Ability and willingness to travel throughout Atlantic Canada as required
High-voltage EV certification or experience is considered an asset but not required
EVT (Emergency Vehicle Technician) Certification is considered a strong asset
