Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Hostess to create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for visitors, ensuring they receive exceptional guest services and have a positive experience from the moment they arrive. This role requires excellent communication skills, a polished appearance, and the ability to manage reservations and seating arrangements efficiently. Previous hospitality or restaurant experience is preferred but not required; a passion for customer service is essential. The Host/Hostess will play a vital role in maintaining the smooth flow of operations and supporting our team in delivering outstanding service.

Duties

Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide a friendly first impression
Manage reservations and seating arrangements using POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms
Answer phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette, assisting with reservations or general questions
Maintain waitlists and inform guests of estimated wait times accurately
Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely seating and service
Monitor dining area to ensure cleanliness, organization, and guest comfort
Handle guest inquiries or concerns promptly, escalating issues when necessary
Assist in maintaining the overall cleanliness and presentation of the host station and lobby area
Support team members as needed to ensure smooth restaurant operations

Skills

Strong guest services skills with a welcoming demeanor
Experience in serving, hospitality, or food service environments preferred
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Knowledge of restaurant POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Professional phone etiquette and customer service orientation
Ability to work well within a team and collaborate effectively with colleagues
Previous restaurant experience or hotel experience is advantageous but not mandatory
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
