CNC Programmer

You will be responsible for:
- Create setup sheets using Esprit Software.
- Programming / setting up our Horizontal Mill, two Vertical Mills and three CNC Lathes.
- Setup / prove new programs.
- Review of current programs to the drawings for any changes and update notes.
- Review of tooling and fixturing for all programs – responsible for review and finding the best tools for the job.
- Ensure the most efficient cycle times and optimal precision machining to meet design requirements.
- To be flexible in respect to work assignments if priorities change.
- Constantly looking for opportunities to improve work processes.
- Share knowledge with co-workers to assist team development.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area, contribute to a safe workplace environment.
Job Requirements
- Esprit Software knowledge is an asset.
- Mechanical ability and understanding of engineering principles.
- Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
- Ability to work in a team as well as independently.
- Ability to lift to 50 pounds.
- Availability to work weekends is appreciated but not required.
- Minimum five years’ experience programming and operating CNC machines.
Demonstrated problem solving skills. Knowledge of work holding, tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts, and other accessories used on various CNC machines.
- Licensed machinist preferred.
- Must be able to read and write basic English. Ability to communicate effectively; get along with co-workers and management; and deal effectively and professionally under stress.
- Ability to successfully operate the assigned machinery and apply mechanical principles to meet the desired quality and productivity (i.e., efficiency, utilization, and waste) standards.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Innovative problem-solving skills are required to deal with a variety of production issues and machine malfunctions.
- High attention to detail. Effective organization and time management skills. Ability to meet expectations of managing multiple work activities at the same time.
