Lynwood Charlton Centre (LCC) is a publicly funded charitable organization in the City of Hamilton which provides a spectrum of innovative and evidence-based, mental health services, including congregate care, day treatment, community-based services including in–home and school-based services to children, youth, families within the community.

The Centre is licensed by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS) and accredited by the Canadian Centre for Accreditation. We are currently looking for permanent full-time Manager of Clinical Services to join our team. The position is based out of the Upper Paradise site and it is Monday to Friday from 8:30am - 4:30pm with some flexibility required.

The Role:

Working under the direction of the Director of Clinical Services the Manager of Clinical Services will provide clinical leadership, consultation, and oversight across LCC programs to support high-quality, evidence-informed, client-centred care for children, youth, and families. This role guides clinical practice, supports staff development and supervision, promotes collaboration and ethical decision-making, and helps ensure services are coordinated, effective, inclusive, and aligned with relevant standards, legislation, policies and organizational priorities.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

· Provides clinical guidance to all clinical programs and services at Lynwood Charlton Centre (LCC) including supporting the implementation of relevant clinical research initiatives.

· Ensure the delivery of high-quality care and outcomes and facilitate the integration and coordination of excellent client care.

· Provide clinical direction and support related to evidence-informed practice and measurement-based care.

· Provide effective leadership for clinical practice and professional ethics throughout all LCC programs.

· Promote inter-professional collaboration and decision-making.

· Provide guidance and direction to staff with respect to clinical policies and procedures and applicable standards, legislation, regulations, and guidelines including the RHPA.

· Contribute to the hiring, training, and clinical evaluation of staff

· Demonstrate integrity and ethical leadership and represent the organization in a professional manner at all times.

· Contribute to Regulated Clinical staff’s annual performance appraisals in collaboration with Program Managers.

· Participate as a member of the Leadership Team.

· Oversee and provide regular clinical supervision to Regulated Clinical staff in conjunction with Program Managers.

· Attend all Live-in and Day Treatment team meetings providing clinical direction and oversight.

· Provide clinical consultation to Program Managers, teams and program staff as required.

· Support professional training and development programs to enhance knowledge and skill development of staff.

· Maintain up-to-date contemporaneous clinical consultation notes in client EHR’s.

· Engage in regular supervision.

· Provide on-call support on a rotational basis to ensure uninterrupted service to clients.

· Overseeing student placement assigned to the programs through regular meetings and review with assigned supervisors.

· Availability for meetings with the post-secondary liaisons as needed and will oversee final written evaluations of students.

· Participate in all mandatory agency and program training and in-service processes.

· Assume responsibility for their own professional development, including keeping up to date with new developments in the field and acquiring new skills to best serve the children/youth and families within the organization.

Skills Required

· Strong knowledge of the child and youth mental health sector and related legislation.

· Demonstrated clinical knowledge and skills in assessment and treatment modalities (i.e.: ARC Framework, CBT, DBT, Family Systems, EFFT, ACT, CPS).

· Proven leadership skills with the ability to develop and articulate clinical direction.

· Highly developed coaching skills with a proven ability to empower teams and individuals.

· Strong analytical, data-driven skills with demonstrated facility in assessing, evaluating, recommending and improving programs, policies and procedures.

· Demonstrated ability to enhance cultural competence in clinical service delivery and support the promotion of equitable and inclusive practices across all LCC programs.

· Knowledge and familiarity of the Hamilton community.

· Demonstrated experience in providing clinical supervision

· Brings a forward-thinking mindset.

· Positive and highly effective interpersonal, consultation, advisory, and leadership skills.

· Highly developed written and oral communication skills with an ability to gather information from others and advance and disseminate new information throughout the organization.

· Present information to various internal and external audiences in an organized, logical, easily understood, concise manner, that is suitable to the format and audience.

· Work collaboratively and cooperatively with internal and external parties.

· Utilize effective conflict management strategies in navigating contentious issues.

· Prioritize duties and tasks and utilize computer software to schedule work/appointments.

· Meet deadlines and accomplish assigned volume of work within allocated work time .

· Utilize computer databases, forms and templates to document consultation service interactions and service reporting.

· Complete all documentation in an organized, logical, easily understood, concise manner, that is suitable to the audience.

· Demonstrate personal and professional boundaries and maintain the privacy and confidentiality of staff and client information.

· Employ an ethical framework as prescribed by policy and procedures.

· Represent the LCC both internally and externally reflecting agency values and core principles.

Education

· Master’s degree, or equivalent, in Social Work, Psychotherapy, Psychology or other related regulated Health Professional Field (Master’s preferred)

· Registration with an accrediting professional body is required (i.e. College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, College of Psychologists of Ontario, or the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario).

Experience Required

· Minimum of 5 years of wide-ranging clinical experience preferred and demonstrated knowledge of client-centered programs and services.

· Minimum of 2 years leadership experience preferred, including supervision and program management.

· Strong knowledge of children and youth mental health sector and the related legislation.

· Demonstrated ability to build cultural competence in clinical services and promote equitable and inclusive practices across the organization.

· Experience working with children/youth in a live-in treatment setting.

· Extensive experience collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to set and achieve common goals.

Experience with navigating and/or collaborating with other community systems.
