Job Description
Data Science, Analytics, and Predictive Modeling
- Design and maintain data pipelines that integrate Epic and other clinical data sources for advanced analytics and predictive modeling.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to assess data quality, identify trends, and generate actionable insights.
- Develop, validate, and deploy statistical and machine learning models to support (for example) patient access, wait time forecasting, capacity planning, and clinical decision-making.
- Apply feature engineering, model tuning, and performance monitoring to ensure robust, reliable, and explainable analytical solutions.
- Analyze large structured and unstructured datasets using Python, SQL, R, and modern data science libraries.
- Automate data extraction, transformation, and analytical workflows to improve efficiency and reproducibility.
- Create dashboards, visualizations, and executive-ready presentations that communicate insights and recommendations effectively.
- Lead projects across the full analytics lifecycle, from stakeholder engagement and problem definition through implementation and evaluation.
- Partner with clinical, operational, and executive leaders to translate business challenges into data-driven solutions.
Collaborate with Digital Solutions teams to operationalize models and integrate analytical outputs into clinical workflows.

Team Leadership, Mentorship, and Data Governance
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to Data Analysts and other analytics team members.
- Review reports, queries, documentation, and analytical outputs to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Support staff development through coaching, feedback, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Assist with project prioritization and resource allocation to ensure delivery of organizational priorities.
- Collaborate with data owners and stewards to establish and maintain data standards, policies, and governance frameworks.
- Support the development and monitoring of data quality metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Facilitate working groups and committees related to data governance and analytics initiatives.
Identify opportunities to improve organizational data management processes and capabilities.

- Support organizational strategic priorities through advanced analytics and performance measurement.
- Design and implement predictive analytics solutions that improve decision-making and care delivery.
- Identify people, process, and technology improvements that enhance the execution of data-related projects.
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and organizational performance reporting.

Education and Certifications
- Undergraduate degree required in:
- Epidemiology
- Artificial Intelligence
- Computer Science
- Mathematics
- Statistics
- Health Informatics
- Business Analytics
- Related quantitative discipline
- Masters degree or PhD preferred.
- Epic certifications an asset, including:
- Reporting Workbench Fundamentals (RPT150)

- Radar (RDR100)
- Cogito Project Manager (RPT300)
- Crystal Reporting (RPT100)
- Clarity Data Model certifications

Experience
- Minimum five (3) to seven (5) years of experience in healthcare analytics, data science, health informatics, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience delivering end-to-end data science solutions in healthcare, academic, or industry settings.
- Hands-on experience with Python, SQL, and data science libraries such as pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, SciPy, and visualization tools (e.g., streamlit, shiny)
- Experience developing predictive, forecasting, or optimization models using electronic medical record (EMR) data, including Epic or comparable systems.
- Experience building analytical pipelines from source data acquisition through model deployment, visualization, and stakeholder adoption.
- Demonstrated ability to translate ambiguous clinical or operational questions into actionable analytical approaches through data exploration and stakeholder consultation.
Experience presenting analytical findings to clinical leaders, operational stakeholders, and senior executives.

- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced knowledge of statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and machine learning methodologies.
- Experience with data mining, data preparation, and working with structured and unstructured datasets.
- Proficiency in SQL and relational database development.
- Experience with analytical programming languages such as Python and/or R.
- Advanced data visualization and dashboard development skills.
- Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and data stewardship principles.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into meaningful business recommendations.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and team collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, competing priorities, and tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of healthcare privacy legislation, data governance standards, and best practices.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
