Our interdisciplinary team are committed about the care for our residents, staff, families and volunteers and are consistently reflecting on practices and areas of improvement to provide exceptional, individualized, culturally competent care to our residents and maintain a strong and dedicated health care team.
We are opening a new Home in January 2026 that will support 256 residents in our community! The new Maple Villa is located on Palladium Way in north Burlington.
Job Overview
Reporting to the Building Services Manager, the Environmental Services Supervisor is responsible and accountable for the provision of effective Housekeeping, Laundry and Maintenance Services for the Home, residents and staff in collaboration with the Building Services Manager. Ensures the Home, it’s equipment and linens are in a state of good repair and cleanliness. Ensures a safe environment for residents, visitors and staff. Ensures that continuous quality improvement outcomes approved for the Home are met or exceeded, and demonstrates dedication to professional values and the mission, vision and values of the Home. Qualifications
· Experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity which may also include experience and demonstrated leadership in the health care field/setting or a relevant field/setting in accordance with the Fixing Long Term Care Act, 2021 ss.70 and Ontario Regulation 246/22 ss. 98/22 (2) preferred;
· A post-secondary degree or diploma is preferred;
· Knowledge of evidence-based practices and prevailing practices relating to housekeeping, laundry and maintenance as applicable; and
· 1 year of maintenance related work experience preferred
· Ability to perform minor repairs (ie. Caulking, patching and painting of walls)
· Strong attention to detail
· Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
· Working knowledge of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act
· Must demonstrate an active interest in ongoing education
· Must understand oral and written instructions
· Valid Driver’s License

Main Duties and Responsibilities
· Performs duties of receiving supplies and maintenance services as per job routines
· Performs general building and property maintenance and repairs
· Performs general clean-up of the home interior and exterior
· Performs audits as assigned of units, common areas, building exterior and landscaping.
· Prepares and sets up rooms or auditoriums for meetings, parties or various other activities and clean up afterwards
· Participates in the orientation process for residents, students, volunteers and staff
· Participates in selection, evaluation, and promotion of environmental staff
· Participates as required in the formulation and review of policies and procedures, goals and objectives and transmits information to staff
· Performs delegated tasks safely and effectively
· Must understand and be competent in the use and care of equipment
· Observes for and reports any malfunctioning of equipment
· Must be knowledgeable regarding all chemicals as per WHMIS program
· Reports promptly to the Nurse on duty any pertinent information regarding residents’ condition change
· Documents information as per department policy
· Actively participates in ongoing educational opportunities and transmits information regarding new developments and trends to staff
· Uses CQI/Risk Management process to evaluate and ensure follow-up
· Uses supplies and equipment efficiently and effectively
· Shares responsibility for care of the environment and equipment of the home and the personal belongings of the residents
· Required to promote wellness as a concept of living
· Works cooperatively with students and volunteers to enhance resident care and foster community linkages
· Protects own health and the health of others by adopting safe work practices, reporting unsafe working conditions immediately and attending all relevant in-services regarding Occupational Health and Safety
· Follows all roles and responsibilities for employees and employers as legislated under the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act
· Ensures compliance with the provisions of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act
· Must actively participate in ongoing educational activities

· Participates in the manager on call and weekend on call rotations.
