The School of Nursing is currently inviting applications for a new, Part-Time Instructor to teach and coordinate the course: NURS 3IH3: Introduction to Indigenous Health Policy and Practice for Nursing .
Course Details:
The courses in the BScN Program curricula introduce nursing students to clinical and theoretical topics where students expand their knowledge of core nursing concepts. NURS 3IH3 introduces the factors and context, both historical and current, that determine the health of Indigenous populations in Ontario, Canada, and beyond.
Job Duties & Accountabilties:
- The applicant will be responsible for teaching and coordinating theoretical courses in the McMaster BScN Educational program.
- Responsibilities will include course administration in the fall term, teaching NURS 3IH3 (one section), fall term support of faculty teaching NURS 3IH3 across two sites, organization of course materials, oversight of evaluation measures, management of student-related issues.
- Works collaboratively with the McMaster University School of Nursing Chair of Curriculum to plan, coordinate, implement, evaluate course curriculum.
- Reviews course curriculum and updates to ensure currency.
- Prepares course change submissions for review at curriculum committee.
Compensation:
- The teaching stipend per course (per term) ranges between $5,500.00 – $7,200.00 .
Required Qualifications:
- Masters prepared.
- Experience as a tutor in a Problem-Based Curriculum is an asset.
- The successful candidate will have 3-5 years of previous experience teaching similar courses at the university level and/or appropriate academic qualifications.
- Commitment to cultural safety training and supportive allyship.
- Eligible candidates must be registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
