Founded in 1875, Tallman Technologies is a Canadian manufacturer specializing in solids and gas injection technologies for the global steel industry.
We design and manufacture equipment that helps steel producers reduce CO₂ emissions while improving safety, productivity and process performance. Tallman also manufactures non-ferrous cast products for the electric motor industry and other heavy industrial applications.

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced TIG Welder/Fabricator to join our manufacturing team in Burlington, ON.
Tallman specializes in precision copper welding and also performs TIG welding on stainless steel, carbon steel and other materials used in our products.
Previous copper-welding experience is considered an asset, but it is not required. We will provide training in copper welding and Tallman’s welding procedures to candidates who demonstrate strong TIG fundamentals, attention to detail and the ability to consistently produce high-quality welds.
Compensation is based on demonstrated skill and experience. The top end of the posted wage range is reserved for welders once they can demonstrate consistently X-ray-quality copper welds.
We have also recently introduced handheld laser welding and welcome candidates who are interested in learning this process.
Working hours are Monday to Friday 7:00am-3:30pm.
Responsibilities
- Perform precision TIG welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and copper components
- Fit, tack and weld components and assemblies according to drawings and specifications
- Produce full-penetration and leak-tight welds where required
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, weld symbols and fabrication instructions
- Inspect completed welds for appearance, dimensions and conformance with specifications
- Perform pressure testing and dye-penetrant testing on specified welds
- Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, cleaning and fitting components
- Assemble components using hand tools and small power tools
- Identify welding defects and complete repairs when required
- Maintain welding equipment, tools and work areas
- Follow all applicable health and safety procedures
- Work effectively with engineering, machining, foundry and production personnel
Required Qualifications
- Five or more years of relevant TIG welding experience
- Experience TIG welding carbon steel, stainless steel or similar metals
- Ability to consistently produce clean, high-quality welds
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and technical schematics
- Experience with material preparation, fitting, grinding and cutting
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work safely and independently in a manufacturing environment
- Reliable transportation to our Burlington facility
