Civil / Structural Engineering Lead
Build and lead our civil & structural engineering team on multiple EPC projects across the energy industry.

Hycroft is looking for a Civil / Structural Engineering Lead to build and lead our civil & structural engineering team on EPC projects across oil & gas and the broader energy sector. About the Role
As the Civil / Structural Engineering Lead at Hycroft, you will lead and grow our civil & structural engineering team, setting the technical direction and taking ownership of team performance on EPC projects across oil & gas and the broader energy sector. You will be the discipline's senior point of contact for clients, project teams, and regulators.
Beyond technical leadership, you will manage the staffing, workload, and development of the engineering team, while staying hands-on enough to review and approve critical deliverables. This is a hybrid role based out of our Surrey, BC office.
What You'll Do
- Lead and grow Hycroft's civil & structural engineering team, including hiring, workload planning, and performance management
- Set technical direction, design standards, and quality expectations for the discipline across all active projects
- Oversee delivery of civil & structural engineering scopes on EPC projects from FEED through construction and commissioning
- Manage the project assignments and workload of the civil and structural engineering team.
- Serve as the senior civil & structural point of contact for clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities
- Coordinate with other discipline leads and project managers to resolve cross-discipline technical issues
- Support proposal development, engineering man-hour estimates, and resourcing plans for new work
- Mentor and develop engineers and designers across all experience levels
- Champion continuous improvement of engineering standards, tools, and processes across the firm
What You Bring
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Civil, Structural Engineering, or related discipline
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.), in good standing with a Canadian provincial or territorial engineering association(s). Registered in (or willing to become registered) in multiple provinces
- 10+ years of progressive civil & structural engineering experience, including demonstrated leadership of an engineering team
- Experience in the energy sector
- Experience delivering engineering work within an EPC environment
- Deep knowledge of industry codes
- Strong technical writing, communication, and client engagement skills
- Highly collaborative
Nice to Have
- Experience across the full project lifecycle (FEED, detailed engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning)
- Experience in an adjacent industry
- US PE registration
- Prior involvement in proposal writing, business development, or client account management
