Job Description: Our client, a well-established Canadian manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Engineering & Maintenance Manager to join their leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic and hands-on leader to oversee engineering and maintenance operations within a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment.
The Engineering & Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading and integrating the Engineering and Maintenance functions to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment, facilities, and infrastructure. This role plays a critical part in supporting operational excellence through equipment reliability, capital project execution, continuous improvement initiatives, and regulatory compliance.
Working closely with operations and senior leadership, the successful candidate will lead multidisciplinary teams and align engineering, maintenance, and production priorities to support business objectives and long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities:
· Lead and develop engineering and maintenance teams within a manufacturing environment.
· Ensure optimal performance, reliability, and uptime of plant equipment and infrastructure.
· Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance programs.
· Oversee capital projects from planning and budgeting through execution and completion.
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, productivity, and equipment performance.
· Manage maintenance budgets, resources, and vendor relationships.
· Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
· Collaborate cross-functionally with production, quality, supply chain, and leadership teams.
· Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to maintenance, engineering, and operational performance.
· Support organizational growth through strategic planning, process optimization, and technical leadership.
· Lead change management initiatives and foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Requirements/Qualifications:
· Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
· Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation is highly preferred.
· 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in engineering, maintenance, or manufacturing operations.
· Proven experience within a unionized manufacturing environment.
· Experience supporting 24/7 manufacturing operations.
· Demonstrated success managing capital projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
· Strong track record leading multidisciplinary teams and driving operational excellence.
· Strong understanding of industrial manufacturing processes, equipment, and systems.
· Expertise in preventive, predictive, and reliability-based maintenance strategies.
· Knowledge of capital planning, project management, and asset lifecycle management.
· Familiarity with safety regulations, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
· Experience utilizing operational and maintenance KPIs to improve performance.
· Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and engineering best practices.
