The New Brunswick Construction Safety Association (NBCSA) is an industry-funded, not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving health and safety outcomes across New Brunswick’s construction sector. We partner with contractors, workers, and industry stakeholders to deliver practical training, education, and safety resources that reduce workplace injuries and strengthen safety culture province-wide.
NBCSA delivers industry-focused programs in English and French to help employers and workers build the knowledge and skills to work safely every day.
Opportunity
NBCSA is growing our team of Contract Trainers to support safety training in Northern New Brunswick, with a primary focus on:
- Tracadie
- Caraquet
- Bathurst
- Campbellton
We are seeking experienced safety professionals with ideally a background in construction and or occupational health & safety who are passionate about adult education and improving workplace safety.
This contract role is ideal for experienced professionals who want to share their knowledge with the next generation of workers while maintaining a flexible schedule.
About the Role
As an NBCSA Contract Trainer, you will:
- Deliver engaging, safety training that is aligned with our standards
- Facilitate interactive, participant-centered learning for adult learners
- Represent NBCSA professionally in classroom, on-site, and virtual settings
- Ensure consistent delivery of NBCSA-approved curriculum
- Maintain accurate attendance, evaluation, and certification records
- Submit required documentation in a timely manner
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of training materials and delivery methods
- Participate in trainer meetings or professional development sessions when required
Contract trainers work closely with NBCSA’s training team and administrative staff to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery of industry-recognized safety training programs.
Core Requirements
· Relevant experience in one or more of the following areas: safety training, construction, or occupational health and safety (OHS)
- Strong communication skills written and spoken
- Bilingual (English or French)
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the region and occasionally throughout New Brunswick
- Must have a reliable personal vehicle available for travel within the province
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
Additional Qualifications
Note: NBCSA may assist qualified candidates in obtaining adult education or instructor development training, if required.
- Working knowledge of the New Brunswick Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations
- Adult Learning / Adult Education Certificate or equivalent facilitation experience
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills
- Reliable, organized, and self-motivated
Experience Considered an Asset
While not mandatory, the following experience and credentials would be considered strong assets:
- Post secondary education in health and safety or other related field or equivalent experience
- 3–5 years of experience in adult training, facilitation, or instructional delivery
- Recognized safety designation such as NCSO, CRSP, or equivalent
- Experience delivering safety training such as:
- Fall Protection
- Confined Space
- Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC)
- Hazard Identification & Control
- Traffic Control
- Comfortable training over multiple platforms including in person and virtual
- Strong computer and administrative skills (PowerPoint, virtual platforms, reporting systems)
- Strong organizational and time management skills

Compensation
- Competitive daily training rate
- Mileage reimbursement for travel outside your local area (per kilometer)
- Reimbursement for meals and lodging when overnight travel is required
